AVA'S QUILT
I finally decided on a pattern for Ava's quilt and have successfully collected over a hundred squares. I also found someone that is going to put the quilt together for us. You really didn't think that I was going to do it myself? Anyhoo, I spoke with the quilt lady (she will be known as QL from here on out) last week and the conversation went something like this:
Me: Did you take a look at the pattern?
QL: Yes.
Me: Do you think it is very difficult to make?
QL: No.
Me: Great! I'll bring you the squares next week. I'm so excited!!!!!!
QL: Yes, you may not have a baby, but you will have a beautiful quilt.
Me: hahaha (kind of fake like). Yes, I guess you don't have to rush to get it done or anything.
Now for the part that I was thinking in head: Listen up, QL, you're darn lucky that I don't throw you to the ground right here and rip every patch off your quilt jacket with my teeth. If you didn't have such a bad back, I swear I would do it. Oh crap, I can't throw her to the ground....I have to get fingerprinted again! Oh, she is darn lucky that I can't risk an arrest....Darn lucky. If I can't throw her down, I'd gladly pay extra to keep comments like that to herself. Just be quiet and make the quilt already! Sigh.
QL: See you next week.
Me: Sounds good. Bye.

Yeah, I'm quite sure QL didn't mean it the way it sounded, but I probably would've wanted to punch her in the teeth. Ugh.
But, I'm happy the quilt is going to get done -- can't wait to see the finished product!
Hmmmmmm.....
This is why, I try not to do sewing for other people! (just kidding!)
You are very funny!
That is too funny! Isn't it funny the conversations we have with people in our head. Just once I would like to say a few of them outloud.
This past weekend we were driving looking for a lake that allows divers. Our friend knew that it was in a quary. We went in several WORKING quarries. I told Ryan ~ We can't get arrested we may have to have another background check! What is the adoption doing to us!? I used to love the excitment of going into "Keep Out" places. Not any more! :)
Hmm..I don't think I like her.
QL has the same thought I have when I look at my pile of quilt squares.
~Can I still send you one to add to your quilt? You may not need it, but I still want our families wish on there. I'll drop it in the mail tomorrow unless you tell me nooooo!
Tracy,
I'm 99.9% sure that you already sent me one...That is as sure as I can be, without getting off my big butt and actually looking. I'm sure I sent you one too. Didn't I?
Little Missy, I want you to know something.
Darren is away on a business trip this week.
I read your comment you left on my blog.
I was eating a pretzel (shut up. I know I am suppose to be dieting)
I laughed sooooooo darn hard, I almost choked on said prezel.
As mentioned above, Darren is away, therefor I was alone.
I could have died, I choked so hard.
My death would have been on your conscious, with your uniball-exhusband talk.
Gotcha....
I can relate. It is rare that this kind of thing happens but today I had a pateint say to me: 'You don't have that baby YET? You'll deliver three of mine before you even have one.'
Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious.
Can't wait to see the quilt. I may have to borrow it to muffle the sounds of the occasional scream from me ;0)
Hiring it out sounds like a great idea! I actually found someone to do the topstitching or WTH it is called for me once I piece the top together. I made the appointment several months ago and she was scheduling into July. Eek! That's just around the corner. I'd better get going. I have a pattern in mind but can't decide on a color for the borders...
Lets hope QL doesn't read your blog... don't want her doing a dodgey job on the Creme De La Quilt!
Its funny how tough we are in our heads, hey?!!!
melissa-
blogging can be dangerous while eating. If you are alone you should never eat while blogging.
I thought everyon knew that! :)
Lisa,
I checked and no we didn't exchange. Mine is in the mail to you today. I have it sitting right here ready to go!
Too Funny Ya'll!
Melissa, Pretzels are O.K. for the diet, hardly any fat!
Glad you did'nt choke though, that would just be so sad, I could only imagine the look on your DH's face when he saw what you where reading!
I've started piecing my quilt together, it has A LOT of hand stitching on it, and I've finished about 35 of the 100, so it'll be a while, my hubs thought that was all and then just sew it together. He had that familiar look (when I told him I was hand quilting the whole thing) I am so used to seeing when I start projects, because he know I usually don't finish, but by golly I WILL FINISH THIS ONE!
There must be another quilt lady out there, one that I don't want to take out for you....growl.
Not nice!!
Wow I've missed some great posts lately!! I would have been humming Kung Fu Fighting droppin' off those squares!
