A TALK WITH AN ALMOST 16 YEAR OLD

Hope: Have you heard anything more on when we might be going to China?

Me: Not really. Rumor Queen was spouting off some stuff that the wait is getting even longer.

Hope: Do you think that China might just say that you and Dad are too old?

Me: Huh???? Hope, China lets people adopt even when they are 50. Dad and I aren't that old.

Hope: Oh. (long pause) But, if Ava gets married when she is 25 then you will be...

Me: Yes, I've done the math. (Sigh)

Crazy isn't it? They think we are ancient and that they know everything. It sounds like you have a family close in size and age ranges to ours. I so enjoy parenting the different age groups. My daily experiences are incredible.

LOL.. my husband always says that we will be having his retirement and Maddy's graduation party at the same time. Then he also adds in that he'll have the best seat and parking space in the house for her graduation.. The Handicap spots... front and center. ;-)

Oh wow...there's all kinds of time to plan the wedding. Besides, you'll be the same age with or without Ava...so I say be it with her ;0)

16 year olds - you've got to love them (this, I know from personal experience!).

I like C.J.'s attitude -- you'll be "that age" (whatever it is) with or without Ava...it's much better to be "that age" with her!

Just take the car keys away from H. until she only says nice things! ; )

This post will be good to give to Hope when she is your age. She'll then realize that it isn't old. :)

I love how kids just don't hold back.

If this makes you feel any better I am older than you and remember "40" is the new "30".

Yeah and "65" is the new "55"!

LOL!! I think I'm a year older than you! I believe we will be young for our ages 'because' of having younger daughters!!!

Hope - your mom is not too old, in fact, she will ALWAYS be younger than me, and that means . . . she is never too old. YOU on the other hand, I can't believe that you are 16!
